FLYING AROUND THE WORLD
This year, I thought to use gamification along the year and I gamify my classroom about this project. This project is about knowing more about the different cultures which we can discover accross the different parts of the world. For that reason, I chose the selected Genially project in order to introduce them the topic and how we would work along the terms.
Firstly, we did brainstorming and we talked about what they knew already about the three selected countries. There were several students which they have already visited those countries and they shared their experiences visiting them. It was really amazing and they were so excited about the idea. In fact, we have just finished the second term visiting Rome and few of them are really engaged achieving their objectives and clues.
On the one hand, I chose Genially tool because I believe that it provides us multimedia and interactive functions to practise and it is easy to work with it and it is very functional for student's learning. In this last term, we worked in groups according to the chosen country and they made incredible flipbooks and lapbooks using another digital tool, Canva.
Furthermore, they created their own passport and now, they are looking forward to take a flight and visit those places.
This project was about more than just gamification. We learned to be creative, different cultures, and to know how to work with diggital tool and how to apply technology in another way in the classroom. They are having a great time when we worked on that in different sessions.
