Foro Interaction

 This is not a farewell

 I simply could not say goodbye yet. After reviewing several blogs of some of my colleagues , I was specially inspired by the use of Pixton or StoryJumper in one of their own projects. It is quite near about my current idea in my gamified class this academic year. 

After reading it and thinking about that, I thought to implement in one of my last sessions for my 4th grade students in order to end the academic year in a funnier way to share with the rest of the others groups. The activity would be " My favourite moment of the year".  It would consist on try to draw the special moments which we have lived along the year and try to think about the objective of that moment, the team spirit or repect among us. It would also be coevaluation while everyone is working on that. In this way, we could also learn from each other.  

At the end of the project, every student would share it with the rest of their classmates and we will project for the next year. W will takr photos to share it on our blog.

PROJECTS IN GENIALLY

 FLYING AROUND THE WORLD

This year, I thought to use gamification along the year and I gamify my classroom about this project. This project is about knowing more about the different cultures which we can discover accross the different parts of the world. For that reason, I chose the selected Genially project in order to introduce them the topic and how we would work  along the terms. 


Firstly, we did brainstorming and we talked about what they knew already about the three selected countries. There were several students which they have already visited those countries and they shared their experiences visiting them. It was really amazing and they were so excited about the idea. In fact, we have just finished the second term visiting Rome and few of them are really engaged achieving their objectives and clues. 

On the one hand, I chose Genially tool because I believe that it provides us multimedia and interactive functions to practise and it is easy to work with it and it is very functional for student's learning. In this last term, we worked in groups according to the chosen country and they made incredible flipbooks and lapbooks using another digital tool, Canva. 

Furthermore, they created their own passport and now, they are looking forward to take a flight and visit those places. 

This project was about more than just gamification. We learned to be creative, different cultures, and to know how to work with diggital tool and how to apply technology in another way in the classroom. They are having a great time when we worked on that in different sessions.

COMICS USING PIXTON

 At SCHOOL( CREATING CÓMICS)

This activivity was carried out in the third cycle of Primary Education, particularly, learners in 5 grade. It was thought in order to link several contents previously studied in language sessions. It was an interdisciplinary session which was really stunning for learners. We dove into the world of storytelling and comic's creations and it was a  successfully proposal!

Organization:

The organization was divided into groups of three. We started by splitting up into trios which huddled together all the time. I mixed up several group of friends to work together and have successfull results. Every student was given a work to do and then, every trios divided their works to do it. As an example, each group have to do among three or four cartoons, they would imagine their stories and their characters and they would represent it in the classroom. 

Instructions step by step:

Firstly, I showed them Pixton's platform and they followed several instructions watching my steps on my computer's screen to know how it worked. 

Later, every groups throw out their own ideas in a piece of paper for their imaginary stories. They were all about fantasy, adventure and fun classroom tales. 

After that, each member of the group thought about what they wanted to say every characters and the sequences of the cartoons. 

 In addition, the funniest part of the project was to make our stories pop them decorated with incredible illustrations and speech bubbles. 

Finally, every groups shared it with the rest of their classmates and they exposed it, showing off their hard work while they were talking about what they made it to get the result. 


Our main aim were to  improve writing expression while we were practising using ICTs tools. Pixton provides the creation of great resources such as this one because they can make their own creations and become real authors in their learning process. Furthermore, it gives you the opporunity to create their own avatars. In fact, every group has their own ones and it is really fun for them. 

All the groups loved making their own stories and pick up their own settings as it was real. Pixton allows us creating settings in parts and for children is really easy to follow because they can keep, check , eliminate and even restore their works.  

 On the other hand, the brainstorming part was the key to get those successfull results as I mentioned before. That is the case the following sample described above. If we could change something, I would have more time in order to explore and create fantastic storytellings and comics without time limits. The selection of the sequences entails a lot of responsabilities and we spent lots of time. However, it is quite easy to apply for children because of the selected parts in which it is involved the platform. Although there is no reason about the limits of time sessions. 

After all, every group shared their creations with their classmates which was a really useful way to interact to each other, to know their own views and learn to each other. 

All in all, this project was so creative and there were incredible results . It was an appealing way to get to know to each other and to work in groups while they were learning and having a great time at the same time. I am looking forward to apply this digital tool for more future projects and maybe do a well crafted project for Book's Day.

EDPUZZLE



 WHAT ARE YOU WEARING? USING EDPUZZLE

The use of this application has provided me the opportunity to enhance my student with special needs. I have chosed this short simple video in order to grab my student's attention. I thought it was an useful digital tool to practise the listening skill for him. 


The main aim of this activity was to get the student to practise the grammatical structure of the topic about clothes while he was reviewing the clothes' vocabulary at the same time and practising his listening skill. It was like a game for him and he improved his acquisition of digital competence and oral comprenhension.

Nevertheless, I flipped the session with him. Firstly, I told him that it was an award about his good behaviour. I tried to engage him the previous session showing the same video with the same vocabulary. Then, that session was already ready after showing it up. The example was short I wanted to observe his reaction. Nos, he is utterly ready to learn few more vocabulary about this topic.

For future practice and application with him or any kind of student with special needs the main purpose is achieved and it could be interesting to apply for those students with special needs such as deafness or autism because they focus their vision in a central point. 

Summing up, this digital tool is a great way to break down an informative video and make sure your students are understanding the main points.

A Timeline with Timetoast

 MY TIMELINE ABOUT MY LIFE

In this learning activity was designed by groups of students in the third cycle of Primary Education. In addition it was adapted to the topic about their granny's life according to Women's Day.  My example was a little example about what and how they have to do it individually then, in the classroom. The platform user-friendly interface made easier the main aim of the activity, allowing children to take their own pictures with their families in order to enhace women's role and differentiate how women have progressed along the years. 

However, we encountered several challenges such as the fact about the way children are learning the use of digital tools. They might find several difficulties in the learning process.  But, providing a teacher guidance step by step while learners follow the instructions carefully.

This activity was really stunning for them and students were truly engaged due to the familiar topic. They reacted positively and they created sensational expositions and works which were award successfull marks. Altough the time limit of each session was really short, for future practice I would plan brief tutorial sessions and predesigned templates in order to maximise sessions .


This useful tool is very simple to apply in the classroom and help students learn sequence, growth, change , and effective visual communication.  Here it is, above, the link :
